There’s nothing more frustrating than wanting to watch a video or send a tweet, but you can’t get your phone to connect to your Wi-Fi. Don’t use up all of your data, and don’t rush in to get it repaired. Before you bring it to the iPhone repair experts at LifeLine Repairs in Peachtree City, check out these troubleshooting tips to see if you can get it to connect properly.

How to Get Your iPhone to Connect to Wi-Fi

Check the Router

The first thing you should do is make sure your router is turned on and that you’re within range. While this may seem obvious, you’d be surprised how often this exact issue is the problem keeping people from connecting to their Wi-Fi.

Ensure Your Wi-Fi is On

Another obvious but often overlooked step is to make sure that you have your Wi-Fi turned on on your iPhone or iOS device. To do this, go to settings and then Wi-Fi to make sure it’s turned on. Make sure you can see your Wi-Fi network, because if it isn’t appearing then it’s likely the issue is with your modem or router and not your phone. If you see a blue checkmark by your network name, you’re connected.

Make Sure Everything is Connected Properly

If you’ve tried everything above and still can’t connect to your Wi-Fi, make sure that your cables and connections are all properly plugged in and connected. If everything is connected as it should be, try restarting your modem and router to see if you can get it back online.

If Your Wi-Fi Option Isn’t Clickable

If you aren’t able to connect to your Wi-Fi because the Wi-Fi option is grayed out and you’re not able to select it, there are a few things that you can do. First, make sure that your iOS device is running on the latest version of iOS. If it is, you’ll need to reset your network settings. You can do this by navigating through the following steps:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Resetting your network settings also resets any of your saved Wi-Fi connections/passwords, any of your cellular settings and VPN/APN settings that you’ve previously used.
